All blades are ground to 220 and heat treated. They will arrive with a surface discoloration from the heat treat process. You will need to finish the blades out to whatever desire of polish you wish. I recommend starting with 320 wet and dry paper and working up to 600. 600 grit puts a nice satin finish on a working blade.
For more information about finishing the blades see my FAQ page and read the blade finishing information on www.engnath.com.
I will custom fit bolsters to your blade for an additional $25. Other services, such as machine finishing to a higher grit, and tapered tangs, are available for an extra charge.
